Helicopter Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Frequented Southern California Coast
A chopper flying above a well-attended coastal shoreline abruptly commenced twirling uncontrollably, ultimately dropping height and smashing into a cluster of palm fronds as onlookers looked on.
Footage uploaded online capture the chopper commencing to spiral above the shoreline then descending near the edge of the shore, where it ends up lodged between palm groves and a set of stairs close to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Information
The Huntington Beach fire department said five people were transported to a medical facility involving two who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the crash on that day.
Three individuals on the street were harmed. Information on their injuries were still under review.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
Planned Function
The department said the chopper was linked to an annual “Cars with Copters” benefit occasion scheduled for the following day.
